Consigning Your Art at Gaia’s Workshop
Consigning Your Art at Gaia’s Workshop
Consignment Standards
Please read over our new Consignment Standards. Appointments to consign or sell with us may be made Tuesdays Wednesdays & Sundays from 2pm-5pm.
Standards for All items and Products
Packaging must be professional, and in a sellable condition for the item itself. We should not need to clean your item. We will not be able to accept artist displays, for as our store grows, we may need to rearrange the products we carry. A small tag explaining what the item is and does is fine, but we will be pricing and coding items ourselves, so please leave room for our stickers. Unfortunately, at this time we will be unable to accept items meant to be ingested unless you are following all federal regulations for preparation and labeling (see more info here: https://chestnutherbs.com/legalities-of-herbal-products-businesses-in-the-united-states/)
Handmade Items
We would very much like to support our local artists, so a majority of what we would like to consign are handmade products, such as artwork, magical items or herbal products. We are looking for magical items created by pagan artists with pagan themes, for any denomination of pagan path. We are not looking for items that can be found anywhere; we are looking for unique items or special products. Items that are very denominational should be made by people who understand and resonate in their path. Products should be all natural as far as possible, and all ingredients used in the craft should have intent and purpose. We encourage competing products; we want to have a wide range of any product in any given category as all artists have their own vision. Intellectual Property theft is not allowed. No part of a consigned item can be accepted if it contains copyrighted material(s), or logos. The only time this is not the case is if the consignment artist owns the copyright themselves.
Bath and Beauty Products & Other Herbal Preparations
Any and all items intended to be put on the body must have an ingredient list. Preparation and packaging must be done in a safe and sterile environment. All items should be clearly labeled “For External Use Only” unless they are prepared in an FDA approved food safe manner & location by a person with the required permits and licenses. and you are following all federal regulations for preparation and labeling (see more info here: https://chestnutherbs.com/legalities-of-herbal-products-businesses-in-the-united-states/)
Cosmetic items are covered by separate rules, see link below.
Jewelry
Jewelry must be made with magical stones, and made with a magical purpose. Items that are tarnished (unless vintage) or not in sellable condition will not be accepted. We should not need to clean your items. All stone jewelry must be labeled with the stone's name and properties.
Not Handmade Items
We do allow consignment of items that have not been hand-crafted, but these items should be one of a kind, hard-to-find, special or magical & very gently used, such as housewares, festival garb/clothes, statues, tools and altar items and supplies, multicultural items used in ceremony or prayer, and/or magical use items with intent. We will generally buy outright things like books, some musical instruments, smaller stones or orbs, tarot decks and oracles, or hand-gathered herbs in bulk, on a case-by-case basis. If you have many items that you would like to consign or bring in for purchase, please mention this when you make your appointment so that we have time to see you that day.
Clothing
Clothing, festival garb and altar cloths must be clean with no stains. We will not accept these items if they are ripped or torn. Clothing must be Festival Garb or Pagan Styles (such as steampunk, fairy, lolita, etc).
We reserve the right to refuse any item that we do not feel fits with the shop. If you drop your items off, you may be asked by email or text to pick up any items that are not accepted; please pick them up or contact us to make other arrangements within 60 days, or they may end up in our free basket.
CONSIGNMENT AGREEMENT
This document may be downloaded below
This agreement gives Gaia’s Workshop the right to display and sell items for the consignor, as indicated below.
The consignor is responsible for setting prices for all of their items.
The Consignor will receive 60%, and Gaia’s Workshop will receive 40% of all sales in store.
Gaia’s Workshop will submit a payment to the consignor on the 15th of each month, for sales from the 15th of the previous month to the 14th of the current month.
Gaia’s Workshop is responsible for any theft, damage, or loss of items while in their possession.
Items put on consignment will be sold in the shop for a term of six months, either from January through June, or from July to December. Items consigned within any given 6 month term will expire after the following term. Gaia's Workshop may choose to extend retention of the items, with the agreement of the consignor. At the end of each 6 month term, Gaia's Workshop will email each consignor with invitation to renew, or notice to pick up previously consigned items. Items not renewed after each 6 month term will be held for 30 days, pending pickup. Any items remaining in the shop after the 30 day period will be considered abandoned property and will be sold or donated at Gaia's Workshop Drums' discretion.
The consignor and Gaia’s Workshop will work together to create an accurate inventory listing of all items brought into the store. New items can be either brought in on Wednesdays from 2-6, or a time may be scheduled with Michelle. All items must be listed and priced on an incoming consignment sheet, and a current consignment agreement must be on file. If, at any point, the consignor wishes to remove items from the shop, they must schedule an appointment with Michelle or Lorelei.
Gaia’s Workshop will keep clear records of all sales with a summary supplied monthly, included with payment. Gaia's Workshop will contact and inform consignment artists by email, as listed below:
This is the agreement for our consignment artists, describing how everything works here at Gaia’s Workshop. It must be filled out and signed when we accept your products for sale (you can download it in advance or fill one out at the shop).
This form accompanies your items when you bring them in. If you are an established consignment artist, you may print the download and fill it out in advance.
